CIF - Game Info - Extraneous

<xs:complexType name="Extraneous"> <xs:all> <xs:element name="annotator" type="Token" minOccurs="0"/> <xs:element name="creator" type="Token" minOccurs="0"/> <xs:element name="gameid" type="GameID" minOccurs="0"/> <xs:element name="comment" type="Comment" minOccurs="0"/> <xs:element name="clock" type="Time" minOccurs="0"/> <xs:element name="section" type="Token" minOccurs="0"/> <xs:element name="stage" type="Token" minOccurs="0"/> </xs:all> <xs:attribute name="annotatorid" type="xs:nonNegativeInteger" use="optional"/> <xs:attribute name="creatorid" type="xs:nonNegativeInteger" use="optional"/> <xs:attribute name="phraseid" type="xs:nonNegativeInteger" use="optional"/> </xs:complexType>

The optional attribute annotatorid gives a reference to an annotator entry inside the archive section namebase. If a namebase entry is referenced then it is not allowed to define element annotator.

The optional attribute creatorid gives a reference to an annotator entry inside the archive section namebase. If a namebase entry is referenced then it is not allowed to define element creator.

The optional attribute phraseid gives a reference to a phrase entry inside the archive section namebase. If a namebase entry is referenced then it is not allowed to define element comment.

Note that the creator of this game must not be identical to the creator of the archive. It is recommended to set this attribute to the name of the application used for the creation of this game, this might help the reader of this archive to recognize special features. Unluckely in many cases, for example games from PGN files, the creator is not known, so PGN as the creator should be used.

Element clock is giving the displayed clock time at the end of the game.

<xs:complexType name="GameID"> <xs:simpleContent> <xs:extension base="Identifier"> <xs:attribute name="tag" type="Tag" use="optional"/> </xs:extension> </xs:simpleContent> </xs:complexType>

Element gameid normally belongs to the game provider given in element source. But in some PGN archives the provider is unknown although a game identifier is given. It is recommended to set the optional attribute tag to the PGN tag name in this case.
